Lena Dunham Rips Kanye West’s “Famous” Video

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — Looks like Lena Dunham took Kanye West’s bait.  No, the Girls creator wasn’t depicted nude in West’s “Famous” video and hasn’t sued the rapper, but she did take to Facebook to excoriate West for what she called “one of the more disturbing ‘artistic’ efforts in recent memory.”

Dunham compared the video’s image of inert wax figures of famous people naked in bed to the recent spate of very public controversies over sexual crimes and allegations.

As convicted Stanford rapist Brock Turner “is getting off with a light tap for raping an unconscious woman and photographing her breasts for a group chat” and as sexual assaults are Periscoped, Dunham writes, “Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they’ve been drugged and chucked aside at a rager?  It give me such a sickening sense of dis-ease.”

She also defended her friend Taylor Swift — who is depicted in the video — writing, “seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift…, a woman I admire like Rihanna or Anna [Wintour], reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley, it makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films.”
