Here’s Your First Look at the Live-Action “Beauty and the Beast” Movie

“Beauty and the Beast” star Emma Watson; Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — We don’t see much of the cast, but there’s lots of atmosphere in the just-released teaser-trailer for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast.

The trailer, which debuted on today’s Good Morning America, shows shot after gorgeous shot of Beast’s castle, with cobwebs forming and candles burning down as time passes.  Then, at the door, we catch glimpses of Belle — played by Emma Watson — with what sounds like Ewan McGregor’s Lumière and Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth discussing her arrival: “What if she is the one?” says Lumière.

And then, as a piano plays the familiar notes from the song “Beauty and the Beast,” we get our best, though still brief, look at Belle, as she gazes on the single, enchanted red rose in its glass case.  If you know the story, you know what that rose means.

Based on Disney’s hit 1991 animated version, Beauty and Beast also stars Dan Stevens as The Beast, with Emma Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kevin Kline, Audra McDonald, and Stanley Tucci.

Beauty and the Beast opens March 17 of next year.  Disney is the parent company of ABC News.
