“Game of Thrones” Teases Epic Jon Snow-Ramsay Bolton Battle

A teaser-trailer was dropped after Sunday night’s episode, featuring Jon Snow’s army – the one he’s been amassing in past weeks to fight Ramsay Bolton and his men, who are holed up in Snow’s former home, Winterfell.

“I’ve fought beyond the wall against worse than Ramsay Bolton,” Snow says, with his sister Sansa firing back, “You don’t know him” – a reference to her marriage to the abusive, psychotic Bolton.

We then see Snow saying, “If I fall, don’t bring me back.”  That, of course, is a reference to his being brought back from the dead – literally – in this season’s first episode.

One thing’s for certain: it’s going to be an epic battle.  Even the episode’s name leaves no doubt – “Battle of the Bastards,” referring to Jon Snow being the late Ned Stark’s illegitimate son, and Ramsay Bolton being the bastard son of the late Roose Bolton.  Late, because Ramsay murdered him earlier this season.

The teaser makes it appear as if Snow’s army might be over-matched – but then again, this is Game of Thrones, so who knows what’s in store. Could this be when Ramsay finally gets what’s coming to him?

Iwan Rheon, who plays Bolton, has joked in interviews that he thinks Bolton deserves a violent, gruesome death for the things he’s done. He may just get his wish.

The penultimate season six episode of Game of Thrones airs this coming Sunday night on HBO.
