(NEW YORK) — The much-anticipated “Battle of the Bastards” will go down on Game of Thrones this Sunday — which, ironically, is also Father’s Day. The episode will feature the fantasy show’s biggest battle to date, and Entertainment Weekly has the numbers to prove it.
According to the publication, it took 600 crew members and 500 extras to film “Battle of the Bastards.” Additionally, the production required 25 stuntmen and women, 160 tons of gravel, and a total of 70 difficult and expensive horses. All in all, the episode took 25 days to film.
“Battle of the Bastards” was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who also helmed the massive Wildling-white walker battle in last season’s “Hardhome” episode.
“Battle of the Bastards” airs Sunday, June 19 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
