(LOS ANGELES) — A Los Angeles judge on Monday granted a motion to dismiss a $200 million copyright-infringement lawsuit brought against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Mark Wahlberg and other defendants over the HBO series Ballers, Deadline reports.
Earlier this year, Everette Silas and Sherri Littleton filed a lawsuit that was amended from a previous complaint, alleging the premise of Ballers is ripped off from their own idea that they once pitched to Wahlberg and others.
The judge determined that the similarities between the two works did not rise to the standard of copyright infringement.
Ballers, whose second season began this month, is executive produced by Johnson and Wahlberg, and stars “The Rock” as a former football player who mentors other players as a financial adviser.
