Disney Channel/Craig Sjodin(NEW YORK) — Zendaya believes this Sunday’s episode of her Disney Channel series, K.C. Undercover, will be both fun and educational for viewers.

In the episode, titled “The Legend of Bad, Bad Cleo Brown,” Zendaya’s titular character and her brother Ernie go back to the 1970s to relive how Cleo Brown became the first black female spy for The Organization, the group for which K.C.’s parents are undercover spies.

Zendaya, 19, says the episode is an “empowering” one for “a lot of people, especially young people of color and women.”

“And also it’s something that I think a lot of parents are gonna enjoy watching as well, because it has some real subject matter to it that I think is gonna be a little deeper,” she adds.

Since the episode is set four decades ago, Zendaya had to get dressed for the part.

“I have my Afro, I had the dope, fly ’70s gear, and literally every time I walked out of hair and makeup my dad was like, ‘You look just like your Auntie this, and you look like me when I was da, da, da, da, da…” and I was like, ‘OK, Dad. All right,'” she says.

K.C. Undercover airs this Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.
