Winnie the Pooh and Pal Christopher Robin Getting Live-Action Disney Treatment

“Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin” – 1997 Walt Disney Studios(LOS ANGELES) — With a slate of Disney classics green-lighted for a live-action interpretation following a series of hits including Maleficent and 
The Jungle Book, Disney has announced that it will produce Christopher Robin, centering on the human child who befriends Winnie the Pooh. 

Variety reports that Mark Forster, who called the shots on the blockbuster James Bond film Quantum of Solaceand Brad Pitt’s zombie hit World War Z, will direct Christopher Robin.

The deal makes Forster just the latest in a series of high-profile directors trying to translate that Disney animated magic to the “real world”; Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh directed 2015’s CinderellaIron Man and Iron Man 2director Jon Favreau helmed Jungle Book, and recently signed onto direct a live-action “re-imagining” of The Lion King

Beauty and the Beast, which will debut next year, was directed by Bill Condon, who directed the Oscar-winning films Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters

Guy Ritchie, who directed Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in a pair of successful Sherlock Holmes adventures — and a rumored third on the way — will direct Aladdin. 

Another animated hit, Mulan, will also hit the big screen in a live-action version, set to debut in 2018.
