(NEW YORK) — While its box office fate in the U.S. has yet to be determined, the video game-turned-movie Warcraft set a one-day record in China Wednesday.
The CG-heavy sword-and-sorcery action movie, starring Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper and Paula Patton, pulled down $46 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo. That handily bested the $28.3 million high-water mark set by the previous record holder, 2014’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
So far, Warcraft’s earned over $121 million internationally since opening late last month around the world. It stomps into U.S. theaters June 10.
