(NEW YORK) — Days after Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump mentioned his buildings wouldn’t discriminate against trans people using the restroom of their choice, Caitlyn Jenner took him up on his comments, and posted video of her trip to the ladies room on Facebook.
Jenner visited Trump Hotel & Tower, on the West Side of Manhattan, and after asking where the rest rooms were, she spotted the men’s room door. “‘M?'” Jenner asked out loud, “Not anymore!”
She then locates the ladies’ room and enters.
At issue is North Carolina’s controversial HB2 law, which would mandate people use the rest room that correlates to their birth gender, not the gender with which they identify.
Critics of the law say because of this, it discriminates against trans people. Supporters, like Trump’s Republican rival Ted Cruz, say it protects females from being molested by men who would be able to use the female bathroom.
“Thanks, Donald!” a relieved Jenner says after emerging later, taking a swipe at Cruz: “and by the way, Ted, nobody got molested.”
