JoJo Fletcher offers the final rose to Jordan Rodgers; ABC/Matt Klitscher(NEW YORK) — “The Bachelorette,” JoJo Fletcher, is engaged to…Jordan Rodgers.

JoJo, a 25-year-old Texas real estate developer, chose Jordan over Robby Hayes on Monday night’s season finale of the ABC reality series.

Jordan, a 27-year-old former pro quarterback, popped the question on a Thailand beach. “I’m so unbelievably in love with you. You’re my best friend. You’re my soul mate,” he told JoJo.

An excited JoJo confessed, “I love you so much. I’ve been waiting to tell you that I love you.”

Jordan proposed, JoJo said yes, and she gave him the final rose.

It was not an easy decision for JoJo, who admitted that she’d fallen in love with both men.

Moments before Jordan put a ring on it, JoJo had the unpleasant task of rejecting Robby, a 27-year-old former competitive swimmer. He’d poured his heart out, declaring that he would love and care for JoJo for the rest of their lives. However, she stopped him from getting down on one knee. In an emotional exchange, she was forced to say goodbye to him.

“Every day I’ve been wanting it to be you. I fell in love with you. But for some reason my heart is somewhere else,” she cried to Robby.

Robby tried to make sense of it all as he was driven away — the fact that she loved him but wouldn’t marry him.

He handled the situation with class on the After the Final Rose special, calling Jordan a good friend and saying that he respects JoJo’s “decision making.”

He did seek clarity from JoJo. “I did love you…my heart always was with Jordan,” she explained.

“I loved you, and it was so great, but it wasn’t that love that I wanted for the rest of my life,” she added.

When Robby asked JoJo if she ever wonders what a future with him would have been like, she answered that she’s happy and that everything worked out as it was supposed to.

Not that there haven’t been a couple of bumps on the road to happiness. JoJo revealed to host Chris Harrison on After the Final Rose that she hasn’t felt as much support for her relationship with Jordan as she’d like, in part because of what she described as negative coverage in certain tabloids.

Harrison alluded to Jordan’s apparent estrangement from his famous brother, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which came up during multiple episodes this season. “There’s not a playbook for dealing with it,” Jordan said of both the speculation regarding his family life and his character. “We kept coming back to, we made this decision knowing we can’t control what people say, and how crazy and unvalid the rumors are.”

Jordan later sidestepped a more direct question about Aaron. JoJo said she hasn’t met Aaron, but the drama surrounding the Rodgers brothers “is not the focus for us.”

The next step for the engaged couple: They are going to live together in Dallas, and while they’ve discussed wedding dates, they haven’t finalized anything yet. In the meantime, Harrison announced that the show was gifting them a trip to the Pennsylvania resort where they began to fall in love.

The finale started with JoJo — a runner-up on the 2016 season of The Bachelor starring Ben Higgins — introducing both men to her family in Phuket, Thailand. The family first met Jordan, who brought them hats as gifts.

JoJo’s mother expressed some concerns during his visit. She told him that JoJo has trust issues, and she asked Jordan to promise to never break her daughter’s heart.

Still harboring doubts, she expressed to JoJo in a later conversation that JoJo and Jordan are too much alike.

Jordan didn’t ask JoJo’s dad for her hand in marriage, hesitant because he was still competing with Robby.

JoJo’s mom had the same sort of chat with Robby that she’d had earlier with Jordan. Robby assured her that JoJo would be his number-one priority, and emphasized that point again in front of JoJo’s dad before receiving his permission to pop the question.

Afterward, the family suggested to JoJo that Robby was more prepared than Jordan to settle down with her. She was shocked to learn that Jordan didn’t ask for her dad’s blessing.

Before making her choice, JoJo went on her final dates with Jordan and Robby.

On his one-on-one with JoJo, Robby presented her with a series of photos from their romance. JoJo was feeling the love, saying she had no doubts about his feelings for her. She confided to the cameras that she could envision spending a lifetime with him.

JoJo’s date with Jordan, on the other hand, was tense. He admitted that he didn’t get her dad’s blessing, and despite his reasoning, she was disappointed. “It makes me doubt that you’re really ready,” she said.

Jordan’s explanations — that Robby was still in the mix, and that he wasn’t 100-percent sure who JoJo would pick — left JoJo confused. But in a subsequent conversation, Jordan told her, “Everything I’ve ever felt with you, I’ve never doubted…I know what I want. I don’t have a doubt.”

Jordan set things right on the day of the final rose ceremony, calling her parents to ask for their blessing. They readily gave it to him, and he wrote JoJo a heartfelt letter to inform her of the good news. As it happened, Robby also penned a note for her, though his journey would ultimately end in heartbreak.
