Brad Barket/Getty Images for Comedy Central(NEW YORK) — When Stephen Colbert hosted The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, right after Jon Stewart’s Daily Show, their joint “Indecision” convention and election coverage was a highlight of the political year. But just because Stewart’s off the air and Colbert’s hosting The Late Show doesn’t mean we’ll do without this year.
Colbert is pulling Jon Stewart out of retirement his coverage of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions the next two weeks, The Hollywood Reporter notes. Stewart, whose Late Show role is unclear, will first appear on tonight’s program.
The Late Show will air live on CBS during the conventions, at 11:35 p.m. ET.
