(NEW YORK) — Could Sharon Stone be following her Basic Instinct co-star Michael Douglas as the next big-name star to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Stone was appearing on the chat show alongside Captain America: Civil War star Sebastian Stan Thursday, when host James Corden asked her if she’d ever consider working on one those movies.
“I am going to do a Marvel movie,” Stone replied.
“Is this some kind of exclusive?” a surprised Corden asked.
“I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.”
In fact, there’s no record of Stone signing onto any Marvel film — which is no surprise considering how tight-lipped Marvel Studios is about upcoming projects. Even Captain America: Civil War star Sebastian Stan, who was also a guest on the show, said Stone’s revelation was news to him.
Considering the dearth of information, it’s not clear whether Stone is speaking about joining an upcoming project released by Marvel Studios, which is owned by ABC News’ parent company Disney, or if her “wee part” will be in a movie centering on a Marvel character licensed by 20th Century Fox, which owns the rights to Marvel’s X-Men and Deadpool characters.
