(LOS ANGELES) — Richard Simmons was released from a Los Angeles hospital on Saturday and apparently okay after demonstrating “bizarre conduct” a day earlier, according to several media reports.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern after hearing I was in the hospital,” Simmons says in a statement his rep provided to ABC News.. “I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great! Summer is here — drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring.”
TMZ first reported Simmons was reportedly rushed to Cedars-Sinai for observation after his housekeeper and longtime friend called 911 after the 67-year-old fitness guru became incoherent.
Paramedics reportedly determined Simmons needed medical evaluation, but weren’t sure if he was suffering from a stroke, dementia or some other ailment.
Simmons hasn’t appeared in public since 2013.
