Tommaso Boddi/WireImage(NEW YORK) — Late Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin’s parents are gearing up to file a lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler and other companies they allege are responsible for his “wrongful death” on June 19, reports TMZ.

Yelchin was found dead in the driveway of his Studio City, California, home after he was pinned by his own 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee against a mailbox pillar and security fence.

Yelchin’s parents say they’re going to sue Fiat Chrysler — the maker of the Jeep Grand Cherokee — manufacturer ZF North America and car retailer AutoNation “for the wrongful death of their son due to significant defects” in the Jeep, according to the gossip website.

A class-action lawsuit was filed against Fiat Chrysler after Yelchin’s death claiming some of its vehicles have a design error in its gear shifter that makes drivers believe their car is in park when it’s actually in neutral.

Yelchin did not leave behind a will, TMZ reports, and his parents have moved to take over his estate. Probate documents filed by the parents on Monday state that Yelchin had $731,000 in equity on his home, and $641,000 in cash and personal property.

Yelchin starred as Chekov in all three movies in the rebooted Star Trek series, including the latest film, Star Trek Beyond. Yelchin also voiced Clumsy Smurf in the recent movie adaptations of The Smurfs.
