Lily Tomlin to Receive SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

Lily Tomlin in “Grace and Frankie”; Melissa Moseley/Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Lily Tomlin will receive the SAG Life Achievement Award at the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in January.

The 76-year-old actress, writer and comic will be the 53rd recipient of the honor; Carol Burnett was awarded the prize earlier this year.

Tomlin won a Tony award in 1985 for her Broadway one-woman show The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.  She won a Grammy award in 1972 and has won five Emmy awards.  She’s also been nominated for an Oscar and several Golden Globe awards.

Tomlin was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2003, and two years ago, she was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors. She currently stars in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, opposite Jane Fonda, for whch she’s twice received an Emmy nomination.

The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
