Liam Hemsworth Calls “ID: Resurgence” Co-Star Jeff Goldblum “One of My Favorite People”

Liam Hemsworth in “Independence Day: Resurgence”; Claudette Barius/Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp.(NEW YORK) — Liam Hemsworth had to be sneaky to watch Independence Day, the blockbuster sci-fi adventure film that was released in 1996.

“I was about six-and-a-half to seven years old when I first watched it and my brothers had it on VHS videotape and I sneaked in and watched it with them ,” he told ABC News.

Now, Hemsworth’s starring in the sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence.

The cast includes Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and Jessie Usher, as well as Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum, all of whom are reprising their roles from the original.

Hemsworth, 26, said it was “amazing” to work with Goldblum, in particular.

“He is one of my favorite people that I ever met…he is just so passionate about it. You turn up to set every day and he is, sort of, fuels everyone with happiness and energy. It’s a good time working with him,” Hemsworth said.

Hemsworth’s older brothers, Chris and Luke, are also actors, perhaps none more famous than Chris, who plays Thor in all those Marvel movies and will soon be seen in the Ghostbusters reboot.  Would Liam ever want to work with one of his siblings?

“We’ve talked about it,” he admits.  “I don’t think it will happen any time soon but it would be a fun thing to do one day.”

Independence Day: Resurgence premieres June 24.
