(NEW YORK) — Cory Monteith’s Glee co-stars, including his former girlfriend Lea Michele, took to social media Wednesday to pay tribute to the late actor, on the three-year anniversary of his death from a drug overdose.
Michele tweeted, “I know everyday you’re watching over me, and smiling.” She added, “Love and miss you Cory, everyday, but today a little more…”
Jenna Ushkowitz wrote on Instagram, “The time may pass but the warmth of your generous soul and the humility in your goofball nature will never fade.”
Ushkowitz, whose message accompanied a throwback photo of Monteith sitting at a drum set, wrote, “You are and always will be our quarterback. We miss you, friend. #3yearswithoutcory.”
Fellow Glee alum Naya Rivera tweeted, “Always missed and never forgotten,” next to a red heart emoji and the hashtag, “#3YearsWithoutCory.”
Here’s how some other Glee cast members saluted Monteith:
* Matthew Morrison: “The minutes become days, and the days become years…but you always remain so close. I miss you, Brother.”
* Kevin McHale: “Today I woke up thinking abt ur smile &how infectious it was.U made us laugh &feel loved evryday. #3YearsWithoutCory.”
* Heather Morris: “Three years ago my best friend wasabout to get married, I was 7 months pregnant and was delivered the news that Cory had passed. I was weary to get too emotional in fear that I would go into labor too early. * Chord Overstreet: “There’s no one quite like you. The greatest guy. The biggest heart. I love you man!”
