The Secret Life of Pets star reveals that his dedication to fitness came from his desire to take better care of himself. “I’ve fallen in love with taking care of myself. I think when you start to understand and realize the importance of health and wellness, it puts you in a position to spread the information that has been given to you,” he says.

Hart, who jokes that he does 1,000 sit-ups a day, is extremely forthcoming about his fitness routines on social media, explaining that each day should be “a step in a better direction.”

Hart says the best advice for those looking to get in shape is to be active, be patient and to pace yourself. He tells ABC Radio, “The most important thing is just to move. Just to simply get up and be active. And that’s at your pace. It’s not that it’s a competition. The only person you should ever be in competition with is yourself.”
