(NEW YORK) — Jared Leto’s jumping from the Joker to a role in the sequel to a sci-fi classic.
The Suicide Squad actor has joined the cast of the Blade Runner sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. There’s no word yet on what role Leto will play.
Harrison Ford will reprise his role of Rick Deckard in the film, which will be set several decades after the original, which premiered in 1982. The cast will also feature Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright.
Suicide Squad recently broke the $500 million earnings mark after two weeks in theaters, and is expected to again top the box office this weekend, for the third consecutive week, despite largely negative reviews.
The new Blade Runner is due out in October of next year.
