Clay Enos/ TM & (c) DC ComicsHe plays no-nonsense soldier Rick Flagg in the upcoming Suicide Squad, and Joel Kinnaman is apparently just as straightforward when it comes to matters of the heart, he told Kelly Ripa and co-host Alan Cumming on Tuesday’s Live with Kelly.
“I’m a romantic guy,” Kinnaman joked of his recent marriage to model and tattoo artist Cleo Wattenström, “So I took her to this magical place called SameDayMarriage.com on San Vincente…Boulevard in Los Angeles.”
“We go in there and this woman behind the counter goes goes ‘Get married?'” Kinnaman said, affecting a thick Russian accent before answering in the affirmative.
“OK 435 dollars. quick, quick.”
Another woman came out, Kinnaman explained, and affecting an even heavier Russian accent, he played her role as minister, “‘Marriage. Rest of your life? Say yes.'”
After he agreed, she turned to Cleo and said, “‘Marriage. You, too: Rest of the life?'”
When Wattenström agreed, the minister lightened up. “‘Oh! You can kiss it!” the actor imitated. “‘Marriage!’
Suicide Squad, which also stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto, opens August 5.
