Hey Violet Announces First Headlining Tour, with “Good Vibes,” but No Explosions

Jordan MillingtonHey! Wanna see Hey Violet on tour?  The up-and-coming group is hitting the road in March for their very first headlining tour of North America, and plan to bring plenty of “good vibes” to their fans.

While guitarist Casey Moreta jokes that the band’s shows feature “explosions, fireworks and confetti,” the band’s frontwoman Rena Lovelis says no, their concerts simply have “good vibes,” adding, “The music’s a lot more groovy now, so it’s kinda like we want everyone to just get down and have a good time.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday via HeyViolet.com.  The L.A.-based band’s tour comes in support of their EP Brand New Moves and their hit “Guys My Age.” While the song seems to diss younger men, Rena, who just turned 20, says the song is more about one’s emotional age.

“It’s actually about, not necessarily younger guys, but less mature guys, who don’t know how to treat a woman like she should be treated,” Rena tells ABC Radio. “Or vice versa, if a girl doesn’t know how to treat a guy like how he deserves to be treated.  It’s more about maturity level.”

Hey Violet, who won the 2016 Teen Choice Next Big Thing award, have gained fans the old-fashioned way — by touring — and they hope for continued success so they keep inspiring their fans.

“I think we just wanna empower people and make [them] feel like they have a home with us,” says Nia.  Keyboard player and guitarist Miranda Miller adds, “And inspire people to do something with their lives…live your dream.”

Casey notes, “If you hate your job then quit….for real, quit and do what you wanna do….Don’t be stuck doing something that you don’t wanna do for the rest of your life.”
