Aiden CullenHalsey shocked fans in late January by announcing her pregnancy. She's since kept details to a minimum, which is why the "Without Me" singer opened up on Monday to shut down speculation she believed to be harmful.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Halsey set the record straight about her pregnancy.

On a plain gray background with white bold text, she wrote, "Why is it ok to speculate and pass judgement about fertility and contraception?"

Halsey, born Ashley Frangipane, then stated, "My pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this [baby.]"

The singer, who suffers from endometriosis and previously revealed she was freezing her eggs so she could have kids later on, added, "But I would be just as happy even if it were another way."

Endometriosis, a diagnosis Halsey has regularly spoken about, is a painful disorder where the tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside of the organ and affects other organs, according to Mayo Clinic.

The "Closer" singer has been upfront about her fertility struggles and how her diagnosis threatened her ability to have children.

The singer revealed in 2018 that she opted to freeze her eggs because "I need to be aggressive about protecting my fertility, about protecting myself."

Halsey also revealed that she miscarried in 2015 while on tour, which is why she's called her unborn child a "rainbow baby:" a name used to describe a child born after a pregnancy loss.

Shortly after announcing her pregnancy in January, Halsey showed off her new surgical "scars that got me this angel" and called herself an "#endowarrior."

The child, whom Halsey is expecting with boyfriend Alev Aydin, will be her first.
