(LOS ANGELES) — It was Ghostbusters night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night.
He welcomed the cast of the new Ghostbusters movie — Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon — plus original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts on a special primetime NBA Finals edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as the regular edition of his late-night show.
McCarthy had pointed remarks for the people who’ve complained that the new Ghostbusters crew is female. She quipped, “What they don’t say when they’re typing is that one minute after they type their mom is like, ‘Get upstairs and take out the garbage! You’re 45 years old!'”
Aykroyd gushed over the women’s performances, and advised fans to watch for the third act of the film. Murray and Hudson agreed that the actresses did a great job.
Kimmel even had Ghostbusters theme musician Ray Parker Jr. sit in with the house band.
The new Ghostbusters opens July 15.
