(NEW YORK) — (SPOILERS AHEAD) Kit Harington lied to fans for months about the fate of his beloved Game of Thrones character, Jon Snow. After last night’s episode — in which Jon was resurrected from the dead — the British actor is finally able to spill details on keeping the massive secret.
In a new Entertainment Weekly cover story due out Friday, Harington wants viewers to know he’s “sorry for lying to everyone.” He adds, “I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’”
Fans will be happy to know that now that Jon’s returned to the land of the living, he’ll have a major role for the rest of the season. “It’s a massive season for Jon,” Harington tells EW. “It’s his biggest season for him so far.”
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
