The horror film ended Suicide Squad‘s three-week run in the top spot, earning an estimated 26.1 million dollars in its first three days of release.

Don’t Breathe follows three people who attempt to rob a blind war veteran, but things don’t go according to plan for them.

Suicide Squad slipped to second place after collecting 12.1 million dollars. The DC supervillain film has now made 282.9 million dollars at the domestic box office to date.

The Jason Statham action sequel Mechanic: Resurrection debuted in fifth place, raising 7.5 million dollars.

Southside with You, inspired by President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama’s first date, and the biopic Hands of Stone, focusing on boxing legend Roberto Duran, both finished outside the top 10 after opening in just over 800 theaters.
