(NEW YORK) — HBO announced Tuesday that Larry David’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm will return for a ninth season.
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of CURB and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming said in a statement.
As expected, David himself was characteristically less ebullient about the news: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'”
The Seinfeld co-creator isn’t totally accurate, however. He was a semi-regular guest on Saturday Night Live this past season, getting big laughs for portraying his doppelganger, Democrat presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.
