Noel Neill as Lois Lane with George Reeves as Clark Kent/Superman in 1955; Hulton Archive/Courtesy of Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Noel Neill, best known for playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane in 1940s Superman movie serials and on television in the 1950s, died on Sunday at her home in Tucson, Arizona, according to her biographer Larry Thomas Ward, The Hollywood Reporter notes. She was 95.
Neill also had small parts in the movies An American in Paris and The Greatest Show on Earth.
After the immensely popular TV series Adventures of Superman was canceled in 1958, Neill largely gave up acting. Even so, she had cameo roles in 1978’s Superman and Superman Returns in 2006.
