Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and their kids in “Harper’s Bazaar” as part of “First Families of Music”

Mario Sorrenti for Harper’s BazaarIf the September fashion issue of Harper’s Bazaar had a theme song, it’d be “We Are Family.”  Some of pop’s top stars have been photographed with their children for a feature called “First Families of Music.”

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen and his daughter Jessica are the cover stars of the issue, and inside, you’ll find photos of Christina Aguilera posing with her kids Max Liron Bratman and Summer Rain Rutler and Mariah Carey with her twins Monroe and Moroccan Cannon.

There are also photos of current American Idol judge Lionel Richie with daughter Nicole Richie and Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler with daughter LivMichael Jackson‘s daughter Paris is also part of the feature.

Harper’s Bazaar shares the artists’ comments on parenting:

Christina on motherhood: “I love being mama bear and providing support, strength, and a safe haven to my babies and loved ones, knowing that, above all else, it’s the most important job I have.”

Lionel’s wishes for his children: “I wish for my kids to discover who they are and explore their passions to the fullest.”

Nicole Richie’s similarity to her dad: “My dad and I will do anything for a laugh. If that means we’re the butt of the joke, so be it. In a nutshell, we’re desperate show ponies.”

The September issue is on newsstands August 21.
