Steve Zak Photography/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Comedian, author, activist, and self-described “Science Guy” Bill Nye is returning to the small screen with a new Netflix project called Bill Nye Saves the World.
Nye, famous for his Emmy winning edu-taining show Bill Nye the Science Guy from the 1990s, will bust myths, and refute “anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry,” says Netflix.
“Since the start of the Science Guy show, I’ve been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science,” said Nye. The new show, he explained will, “discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change…And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.”
Bill Nye Saves the World will launch spring of 2017.
