Ed Araquel/FOX(LOS ANGELES) — In a birthday tweet to his former X-Files partner Gillian Anderson on Tuesday, David Duchovny hinted that the paranormal series could live again.
Duchovny and Anderson played FBI agents in the show: he played Fox Mulder, a dogged believer in paranormal cases, and she — at least initially — Dr. Dana Scully, the hard-nosed skeptic assigned to debunk them.
“Happy Birthday, Gillian,” Duchovny noted. “If you see Dana, tell her Fox says she might wanna polish up the ol’ badge soon-ish. Love, D.”
The pair reunited for a well-received limited reboot of the Fox show earlier this year year, and now the actor’s quip has fans wondering if more could be in store.
