(LOS ANGELES) — Mihaly “Michu” Meszaros, the 33-inch-tall actor and former circus star who played the title role in the 80s sitcom ALF, has died, ABC News Radio has confirmed.
The actor, who also appeared in Big Top Pee Wee, played the fuzzy alien character in those rare scenes in which the character, usually a puppet, was seen walking about.
His manager, Dennis Varga, says Meszaros had a stroke June 2nd, and was in a coma and suffering from pneumonia since. He died 8:20 Sunday evening, noted Varga, who lived with Mesaros at a home in Hawthorne, California.
Meszaros was 76.
