Adam Levine and James Corden get pulled over by police in latest “Carpool Karaoke”

Terence Patrick/CBS Broadcasting, Inc. Adam Levine joined James Corden on a car ride through Los Angeles on The Late Late Show’s latest edition of “Carpool Karaoke” on Thursday, and the two had a run-in with the law.

While belting Maroon 5‘s sultry “She Will Be Loved,” they were interrupted by police sirens. The officer shouted from the window that he wanted Levine to sing him a song. When Corden pulled over, the officer pulled up beside them and just told the two to be careful.

Levine kept his cool, but Corden had a full-fledged panic attack.

“I completely panicked to my absolute core,” he said.

That didn’t stop the two from continuing to sing some of Maroon 5’s biggest hits, including “Sugar,” “Moves Like Jagger,” and the band’s latest single, “Wait.”

During the joyride, Levine told Corden that he is a born and raised Angelino but doesn’t want his daughters growing up sounding like Los Angeles stereotypes. If his daughters did, Levine said he would tell them, “You sound like a f***ing moron. Don’t do that.”

Levine also told Corden that he loves to race cars, so Corden took him to the racetrack to have a friendly competition — despite the officer’s warning earlier.

Corden drove the track pretty sloppily at full speed, driving onto the grass a number of times. But, when Levine got in the driver’s seat he had an added obstacle: Corden asked him a series of general knowledge questions.

“Who is the queen married to?” Corden screamed over the screeching tires.

“The king.”

“What school does Harry Potter attend?”

“I’m not a f***ing nerd, so I don’t know,” Levine quipped.

Maroon 5 kicks off their tour May 30. The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights on CBS.
