Lucasfilm/Disney(BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.) — The Force will be with ABC TV, if the network’s entertainment president, Channing Dungey, has her way.

Dungey on Thursday left open the possibility of ABC working with Lucasfilm on a Star Wars TV show.

“The conversations with Lucas — we have had conversations with them, we will continue to have conversations with them,” she revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. “I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand onto our programming.”

She certainly would like to see it happen, as a self-described fan of the series.

ABC’s sister cable network, Disney XD, currently airs an animated Star Wars show, Star Wars Rebels.

The Star Wars franchise was revived last year with the theatrical release of the smash hit The Force Awakens, which made more than two billion dollars worldwide. More movies in the franchise are in the works, including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, due out in December.

Lucasfilm and ABC are both owned by Disney.
