If this is true, it would definitely be a touchdown. According to U.K.’s The Sun, Adele is being courted to perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
The Sun quotes what it describes as an NFL source as saying, “There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.”
The source reportedly says Adele’s “nerves” are an issue and it “hasn’t been an easy sell.” But as with most halftime shows, she’d likely be joined by other artists. The Sun reports that OneRepublic could potentially take the stage with her.
That pairing could make sense since frontman Ryan Tedder has written songs with Adele before — including “Rumour Has It.” And that’s what all this news is so far: just rumors.
