Why is Jack Antonoff the go-to guy for Taylor, Rachel, Lorde & Pink?

Kevin Winter/WireImageAs a member of the band fun., Jack Antonoff topped the charts and won Grammys.  But these days, he’s better known as the go-to songwriting partner for female pop stars like Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, Rachel Platten, Lorde and more. So what makes him so good at writing hits for women?  He claims he has no idea.

“That’s for everyone else to decide. I don’t know,” Jack tells ABC Radio. “If I knew or had an opinion, I probably wouldn’t be any good at my job.”

He is definitely good as his job.   Jack, who dates Lena Dunham, co-wrote Sara’s “Brave,” Rachel’s “Stand By You,” Taylor’s “Out of the Woods” and “I Don’t Want to Live Forever,” and Lorde‘s entire new album, Melodrama.

Jack will kick off a headlining tour next month with his project Bleachers: he performed with them last week on ABC’s Good Morning America.  He also collaborated with Pink on her long-awaited new album, Beautiful Trauma, due in October, and he says it was a great experience.

“She’s just wonderful,” he says. “I did two songs on it, one’s called ‘Beautiful Trauma,’ the other one’s called ‘Better Life’ and she’s a true pleasure, a real human being.”

As for Taylor, he claims he has no information about her new album, which is reportedly coming out at the end of this year.

“Nothing that I know of,” he said, when asked by ABC Radio whether Taylor’s album is really due this year. “We’ve just been hanging as friends lately.”
