Getty Images via ABCCamila Cabello has met more than a few fake friends in her day, but she admits it’s not always easy to spot them at first.
“I think the only way to know is time,” she tells Elle magazine. “I feel like there are instances and circumstances in your life that always change.”
So for instance, she says, you could think someone is your friend but a year later, when you really need them, they don’t have your back.
“And you’re like, ‘Ok, that friendship was circumstantial. You were only my friend when it was easy,’” she says. “What’s hard is you can’t tell from the beginning.”
Camila says she’s been “disappointed” by so many people. But there have been a few friends “who make everything worth it, stick through it, and they show loyalty.”
The former Fifth Harmony member adds, “And no matter what goes down, seas or rough or calm Sunday afternoon, those are people that are worth it. You die for those people.”
