Greg WilliamsEd Sheeran gets romantic on a ski trip in his video for “Perfect.”
The snowy clip was shot in Austria last month and based on a script written by Ed and director Jason Koening. It tells the story of Ed falling in love with a girl he grew up with, played by Zoey Deutch.
“Came up with the idea for the video because I like Christmas,” Ed says. “There’s not enough Christmas music videos out nowadays. So yeah, I wanted snow and romance. The song’s cheesy anyway and I thought we might as well go like full-blown Swiss cheese on it.”
In the clip, Ed and Zoey enjoy a ski trip with a group of friends, but then break off on their own and reconnect. They have a snowball fight, make snow angels, share a pizza and play with a kitten. At one point, Ed reveals his feelings for Zoey by taking out his guitar and singing her the song.
The video ends with them dancing in the moonlight and sharing a kiss.
