RCA RecordsMore than three years and countless singles after the release of his #1 debut album, Mind of Mine, Zayn has finally dropped his sophomore release, Icarus Falls.
The album features a whopping 27 tracks, because it’s designed as a double album that’s “a dichotomy between the light and the dark.”
The album was also inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus, a boy whose father, Daedalus, crafted wings for him out of feathers and wax. But Icarus ignored his father’s advice and flew too close to the sun; the wax melted, his wings fell apart and he plunged to his death. Good times.
The first disc, Icarus, features “joyous, anthemic” tracks, such as the previously released songs “There You Are” and “Let Me.”
The second disc, Falls, includes darker about “the vices of humankind” and “its struggles.” That’s where you can find previously released tracks “Entertainer, “Sour Diesel,” “Too Much,” “Rainberry,” “Fingers” and “No Candle No Light,” featuring Nicki Minaj.
There’s no word on whether Zayn will tour to promote the album. Previously, he didn’t due to anxiety issues.
