Mert & MarcusNow that Taylor Swift has decided to speak out about politics, she isn’t stopping with just an endorsement: She’s now encouraging fans to take advantage of early voting.
While November 9 is officially Election Day, Taylor has taken to Instagram to remind fans that, depending on your state, you can vote early if you can’t make it to the polls on the 9th.
Next to a photo of her toes painted red, white and blue, Taylor writes, “Something I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time: EARLY VOTING. It makes it so quick and easy to go and cast your vote before November 6.”
Referring to her adopted home state, she adds, “Early voting starts TODAY in Tennessee and goes to Nov 1. You can check out your state’s early voting dates at the link in my bio.”
As previously reported, Taylor endorsed Democrat Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives in Tennessee. She said the voting record of Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn “appalls and terrifies me.”
