Epic RecordsWhen you’re a chart-topping hit songwriter, an idea can strike at any time…even when you have to go to the bathroom.  That’s how Camila Cabello‘s new single “Crying in the Club” came about.

As producer and writer Benny Blanco recalls to Billboard, he and Sia were writing together in L.A. when she had to take a break. “Sia was on her way to the bathroom and goes, ‘Oh, my God, I have a really good idea for a song!’ ” he says. “When she came back, we did the song in 20 minutes.”

When Blanco brought “Crying in the Club” to Camila, the former Fifth Harmony singer rewrote some of it, and then recorded it.  “It had a message about healing through the power of music,” she tells Billboard. “That theme was a key part of what I wanted for my album.”

“I didn’t want the album to just be about pain,” says Camila of her album, which is called The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving. She adds that the song “was a missing piece of the puzzle.”

The album is due this fall.
