CMTShawn Mendes is going country. He’s teaming up with superstar country group Zac Brown Band for an episode of CMT Crossroads, the series that pairs country artists with rock and pop acts.

The episode, which will be taped outside of Nashville next week, will debut October 24 at 10 p.m ET/PT on CMT.

“I’m so excited to head to Nashville to play with Zac and the band on Crossroads. It’s going to be a blast,” Shawn says in a statement.

Zac Brown adds, “Shawn is an incredibly talented artist and it’s been exciting to watch his career rise over the past few years. We’ve had fun collaborating together.”

He continues, “This Crossroads will be very special with huge vocals and musicality. It will be unexpected and something that both sets of fans will enjoy.”

Zac Brown Band is used to teaming up with non-country acts. They recently completed a run of stadium dates with OneRepublic, and over the years, they’ve collaborated with rockers Dave Grohl and the late Chris Cornell, Sara Bareilles, Jewel, Jason Mraz, Kid Rock, late superstar DJ Avicii and Sheryl Crow, among others.

Meanwhile, Shawn’s world tour will kick off in March 2019.
