Getty Images via ABCNo holding back here: Shawn Mendes has risen to the top of Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay chart with his latest single, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”
This marks his second number one on that chart list, following his debut single “Stitches” back in 2015. That makes Shawn, who just turned 19 on August 8, one of only five acts to have scored multiple number ones on the Pop Songs chart before they turned 20.
Chris Brown and Avril Lavigne took the top spot three times before they were 20, while Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears did it twice.
The Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays on mainstream top 40 stations, as calculated by Nielsen Music.
“There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” is the current single off Shawn’s album Illuminate, which has been certified platinum.
