Natasha Moustache/Getty ImagesMeghan Trainor‘s 2018 tour dates wrap up Monday night, and then the Grammy-winning star will start getting ready for her wedding to actor Daryl Sabara, which is going to take place any minute. Meghan says she’s more than ready to make the switch from “boyfriend” to “husband.”
“It’s crazy, I just realized a few days ago that I get to call him a new name now,” she told ABC Radio on Friday night. “I get to call him ‘hubby’ or ‘husband’ and I was like, ‘That’s so awesome!’ And I’m so ready!”
She laughs, “I keep saying every day, like, ‘I’m just ready, I wanna do it now!'”
After she and the Spy Kids actor got engaged in December of 2017, Meghan said she wanted to get married — not in some fancy event space — but in her own backyard. She revealed that that’s still the plan.
“Yep, it’s in my backyard under a huge tent and there’s a lot of Christmas lights,” she said.
And when the wedding and honeymoon are over, Meghan says, it’s back to the studio to put the finishing touches on her third album, Treat Myself. It was originally slated to come out earlier this year, but its release was delayed.
“Yeah, [I’m] still working on Treat Myself, I think it’s coming out January or February,” Meghan said, “I know I’m going on my honeymoon on Christmas night, so as soon as I come back, they told me I’m gonna work harder than ever.”
“So I’m really excited,” she added. “I’ll come back with a bang!”
