LAVA/Republic RecordsLorde continues to top end-of-year polls with her Grammy-nominated sophomore album Melodrama.

Melodrama rules Entertainment Weekly‘s “Best Albums of 2017” list, and the magazine says it “documents the rushes of young love with such precision, even the most jaded among us will feel the flicker of butterfly wings in their guts as they listen.”

According to EW, the disc makes a case for Lorde as “her generation’s finest lyricist,” and adds that Melodrama “reminds us what a privilege it is to feel anything as strongly and as messily as you did when you were young.”

Kesha‘s Rainbow comes in at #14 on the list, with EW praising its “raw, powerful vocals, rowdy guitars, and ultra-gooey hooks,” as well as its “themes of overcoming adversity.”

Charlie XCX‘s album Number 1 Angel is #18 on EW’s list, and the magazine praises the British singer for heading into the studio and knocking the disc out while waiting for her “official” third studio album to be released. “If this is the caliber of songs she cranks out while killing time, her next LP will be something to behold,” gushes EW.

Kelly Clarkson‘s The Meaning of Life is #21, and EW calls it “the truest showcase of the warmth, charm, and humor that made us fall in love with her in the first place.”

Other albums that made EW‘s “best-of” list include Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN., Ctrl by SZA and JAY-Z‘s 4:44.
