Peter LindberghAs awards season keeps rolling along, Lady Gaga is on a roll herself.

The singer has received a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for her role in A Star Is Born at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.  The movie itself leads the SAG Awards nominations with four, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

The SAG Awards are seen as a major indicator of the Oscar nominations, since its voting body has the most overlap with that of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

As IndieWire notes, earlier this year, 15 SAG nominees went on to be nominated for acting Oscars, and the four eventual SAG winners in the acting categories went on to win Oscars, too.  This bodes well for Gaga snagging an Oscar nomination in the coming weeks.

As previously reported, Gaga is also up for a Golden Globe for her role as struggling singer-turned-star Ally.
