She’ll be giving viewers an inside look at her health struggles in her Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, which comes out September 22. But in a Twitter post Tuesday, the singer confirms she suffers from fibromyalgia.
“In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia,” she writes. “I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes muscle pain and tenderness, as well as fatigue, memory and mood issues. Symptoms can sometimes begin after physical trauma or significant psychological stress.
Gaga has also been open about her battle with post-traumatic stress disorder, which she last year revealed she began experiencing after she suffered an injury while on tour.
