Vincent PetersIn the current animated feature film The Star, Kelly Clarkson lends her voice to a horse named Leah.  But this Friday, you can catch her playing herself — in animated form — on Home: For the Holidays,  a Christmas special based on the Netflix cartoon Home Adventures with Tip and Oh.

Home Adventures with Tip and Oh is a spinoff of the 2015 animated movie Home, which starred Rihanna as a little girl named Tip who meets an alien named Oh, voiced by Jim Parsons.  In the TV series, their parts are voiced by Rachel Crow and Mark Whitten

As People reports, Kelly is part of the celebration as Oh spends his first Christmas on earth, and in the special, she sings “O Holy Night” and “Christmas Is a Feeling.”

“I was so excited to be able to be a part of the singing,” says Kelly in a featurette promoting the special.  In addition, she says, “My character, which is me, explains it’s not about how great your tree is, but it’s about who is surrounding the tree with you — creating those memories that you’ll have forever.”

Kelly also is getting into the holiday spirit with her new children’s book, River Rose and the Magical Christmas, which comes with her new holiday song, “Christmas Eve.”

DreamWorks’ Home: For the Holidays premieres on Netflix Friday.
