ABC/Ida Mae AstuteKaty Perry isn’t dating John Mayer anymore, but she still has love for his dad.
She wished his pops a happy 90th birthday on Instagram Wednesday. John posted a photo of himself celebrating with his dad, Richard Mayer, and Katy commented, “Looking fantastic as ever! Happy birthday friend.”
John had captioned the photo, “Happy 90th Birthday, Dad! Leave doting comments about my dad below. He’ll scroll through it. Also please stop this train. Thank you.”
“Stop this train” is a reference to John’s 2006 song of the same name, in which he sings about having “a talk with my old man” about getting older.
Katy and John split last year after dating on and off for three years.
