Five and done: Louis Tomlinson gets his record deal

ABC/Phil McCartenThe solo careers of every member of One Direction are now officially set: Variety reports that Louis Tomlinson, the only current or former member who didn’t have a solo deal, has joined Epic Records.

Epic is a division of Sony, which is also the parent company of Simon Cowell‘s Syco Records, who signed One Direction after their X Factor stint.  Harry Styles and ex-1D member ZAYN are also signed to divisions of Sony, albeit different ones, while Niall Horan and Liam Payne are under the Universal Music Group umbrella.

Epic Records president Sylvia Rhone tells Variety that when she heard Louis’ music — especially his new single “Back to You” with Bebe Rexha — she decided to sign him.  Rhone tells Variety that “Back to You,” due July 21, is “the perfect bridge from Louis’ past to his future.”

Niall, Liam, Harry and ZAYN have all scored solo hits since February of last year, starting with Zayn’s “Pillowtalk,” which hit #1.
