“Fifty Shades Darker” soundtrack debuts at number one on “Billboard” 200 chart

Republic RecordsFifty Shades Darker may not have been able to capture the top spot at the box office, but the movie’s soundtrack managed to debut at number one the Billboard 200 chart.

According to Nielsen Music, the album earned 123,000 equivalent album units and of that total, 72,000 were in traditional album sales. It beats its predecessor, the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, which only peaked at number two on the chart.

The Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack features the Taylor Swift/Zayn duet “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” as well as new tunes from Nick Jonas, Halsey, Sia and Tove Lo.

Bruno Mars24K Magic rose to the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart, showing a 108 percent gain following his two Grammy performances last week.
